Blending Techniques with Craftamo Brushes

Modified on Wed, 15 Oct at 3:17 PM

Craftamo brushes are designed for control, flow, and smooth paint application.

Here's how to make the most of them for blending:

  • Use the Right Brush Shape:

    • Filbert and flat brushes are great for soft color transitions.

    • Round brushes allow detailed blending in tighter areas.

    • Wedge brushes are perfect for gradient petal or leaf blending in one stroke.

  • Keep the Brush Damp:

    • A damn (not soaking) brush helps pull and stretch colour more easily between tones.

  • Feather Your Strokes:

    • Apply gentle pressure and blend back and forth between colours for smoother transitions.

Work While Wet: For mediums like acrylic, blend before the paint dries. With watercolor and gouache, timing is key! Practice when to blend wet-on-wet or layer after drying.
